Teaming Up With The Law
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Five
Star Productions are teaming up to enhance the existing CALL-A-COP
program, which serves as a tool for children involved in violent
situations, ranging from physical intimidation to witnessing weapons
being brought onto school grounds. One hundred and fifty thousand
trading cards with both the deputies' and celebrities' images
and deputies' 24 hour phone numbers will be passed out to children.
The sheriff and four deputies volunteered to carry mobile phones,
donated by Bell South Mobility. The program will begin in Palm
Beach County elementary school.
To make the cards more appealing and collectible for children,
we have volunteered both our services and contacts. Instrumental
in bringing together all of the professional South Florida sports
teams with The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the idea is
to incite the child's interest enough to hold onto the card for
future use if necessary. Star athletes and other celebrities will
pose on the trading cards alongside the volunteering deputies,
with each individual's statistics available on the back. The trading
cards will be produced by Five Star and a selected printer.
The time, effort and expense of this program will be well worth
it if helps just one child, said Scott Woolley, president of
Five Star Productions. Our commitment to the children of this
community and their future is paramount in our minds.
Just Ghouling Around
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to
go to a costume party with your favorite professional football
players, eat great food and contribute to a great cause? All-Pro
football player, Sam Madison of the Miami Dolphins and his foundation,
Madison Avenue For Kids, are planning to do just that!
Five Star Productions was there to aid the cause by donating the
production of a five-minute promotional video used to market the
event and court Broward County businesses and their employees
to attend the "Gridiron Signature Grand Ghoul." This video will
also be used throughout the year to gain awareness of the organization,
Madison Avenue for Kids, and their charitable efforts.
Benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County and the
Sun-Sentinel Diversity Venture Fund, Five Star took crews on-location
for the 2001 event and donated the production and post-production
services for the 2002 video. The video also airs in local retail
outlets on closed-captioned television and during the Dolphin
games at Pro Player Stadium.
